Your hard work is over
And the payment is made
Find me in the desert
Where the highway is laid
In the wild you’ll hear me
Calling your name
The mountains and valleys
Will all be the same
You bent and you broke
Like a blade of grass
But I promised forever
Your sickness will pass
Shout when you see me
Bringing my power
I’ll gently lift you
In your weakest hour
I made you
And all of the earth
The skies and the space
I measured their worth
I had no teacher
And no one could tell
How I understand you
And all knowledge as well
Though your countries are dust
No weight on the scales
Your all is nothing
And everything fails
To compare with my presence
You have not a thing
That shines like a vision
I am your king
But you know this
And have from the start
You know I’m up here
I know your heart
You grow closer and closer
And only to fall
You get so proud
When you’re two feet tall
Just look at the stars
I named every one
The planets, the moon
The glorious sun
Why don’t you see me?
I’ve always been there
You were not blind
I’m everywhere
I know you’re tired
I know you’re weak
I know that you stumble
I know who you seek
But keep up your hope
I’ll make you strong
You’ll even fly
Before too long
You’ll soar to my throne
And sit at my feet
Your search is over
Soon we will meet.
And the past will be past
The time will be now
No more running
Just walking somehow
On top of the clouds
Over the hills
Through the fields
Or wherever He wills
We will be one
Just like the three
Father and son
Spirit and me
